After hearing presentations, reading submissions and compiling the comments and information from the surveys the Shoreline Advisory Committee has put forward three recommendations to the RMVB council.
“we recommend that the RM Council approach the Province of Manitoba, on an urgent basis, seeking agreement to use as much of the grant as necessary to engage competent shoreline expertise to advise the council and community…” page 26
The committee recommended that council participate in the CEC hearings that will be scheduled for Manitoba Hydro’s final license in regards to the regulation of lake levels.
“The committee recommends that council formally confirm with the Province that they will not approve any permanent and/or non- emergency shoreline works while the RM is conducting it’s review, and the Province take whatever steps are necessary to monitor areas for which it is responsible to ensure that no such unauthorized work takes place” Page 29
It is important to stay informed and to read the entire report, which can be found on the Victoria Beach Beacon.
